Help with locating a prop needed, please!

I'm needing to recreate The Saturdays 'Up' video in a couple of weeks time and need to find some kind of white cube for the kids to stand on which obviously needs to be stable and sturdy enough to take their weight.

The cheapest thing I can find at the moment is this table (minus the casters) from Ikea but I'm wondering if anyone has ever come across something similar that's used in another industry that might do the job?

http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/20211501

Any help would be gratefully appreciated!

How about a sheet of MDF, a saw, some glue and some white paint?

Lol, and a lawsuit when they fall through it! Do you think that would be strong enough? My DIY skills are limited (and my husbands are worse than mine) though the local woodyard could cut everything perfectly square for me, I guess it'd then depend on the strength of the glue (and the thickness of the MDF.)

    Thanks, Paddy :)

Heh heh the lawsuit position is not going to be any better if you are using cheap Ikea furniture out of purpose (occasional fashion table vs stage!!).

MDF is the flimsiest of woods, but you will be stunned how tough even thin plywood is. Try snapping a bit of 6mm-ish plywood and you will see what I mean. Brace all the edges internally. Cascamite glue is cheap and very strong, but ask at your DIY store for advice. There may even be someone there who will help you knock one up (especially if you steer clear of the big chain sheds!)?

im with paddy - and a few years theatre xp behind us, we swear by mdf, jigsaw, paint, glue and a few screws.
Decide what height/size, have someone cut the MDF if you arent confident, and simply screw together edge to edge creating a cube - strong, sturdy, no wheels... then get people involved to paint them :) Always handy to cut in a hand hole for easy moving too. Make them all the same size and you will find endless uses in shows to come!

I'd use 18mm MDF, screwed & glued with 2"x2" timber lining the inside joins. You'd be amazed how strong that is.
