Wiring up a cooker - cost?

We recently bought a 2nd hand (good condition) electric cooker, thinking we could just plug it in (always had gas before so didnt know otherwise!
)
Well it came today and turns out we cant, and we need a sparkie to come and wire it in...
We have the switch with the orangey red light next to it. And a covered electric box near the cooker gas pipe, so I think we're all set up for it, just need someone to wire the cooker into it.
Any idea on how much this will cost??

You can legally connect the cooker itself, it's only 3 wires and not very difficult.
If you really want a sparks to do it, it will cost you an hours labour minimum.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0 -
As killerwatt states you could do it yourself just make sure the main switch is off when you do it.0

You need to check that the existing cable is capable of supplying your new cooker - it might be more powerful than your old one. I would suggest it's worth getting an electrician to check this out for you0

Should be £40 - £50Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

I normally charge £37-£40 for this (including a bit of H07 heat resistant cable for cooker, as they ususally don't come with one)baldly going on...0

yes there is. you have a fused spur. the blank plate you mention will have the connections behind it.
if you are not sure get a sparky in - 1 hours labour and it's all safeYou got to get through what you've got to go through to get what you want but you got to know what you want to get through what you got to go through.0 -
Hi,
