I agree with the above post, ebay is probably her best bet. Without a receipt she will only get an exchange.

  • I guess the theft thing is a moot point (where does that phrase come from?). Using a voucher/discount code not meant for you is taking away a retailer's profit in exactly the same way as keeping goods not meant for you. Actually it's worse (from a moral standpoint) in that you can't go online and say "I've been sent some goods by mistake, here's some for the rest of you". Deliberately buying a misprice or getting an R&R at Tesco is also taking advantage of a retailer's genuine mistake to deprive them of profit and advantage yourself in goods, services or cold hard cash.
Look up the word "consumer" in any decent dictionary and you'll find we're predators, not prey. Retailers profit by trying to farm us, but they expect to get bitten now and again. I won't cry myself to sleep so long as I can put food on the table.
Reading this signature is a waste of time
  • Okay - used to work for Evans, so here's some pointers

Morally the choice is hers. Would I do it - YES. Would you - from what you are suggesting - NO.

If she is taking it back then do it before Xmas or it will get reduced in the label. Say she bought it for her mum, but she didn't like it and now can't find the receipt.

Will not be an issue...that's if she wants to do it...

I was just saying thats what I would do in that situation. I know it would be tempting at this time of year when moneys tight, but I just couldn't do it. I realise its not you :)

Ah I see, no problem, it just appeared that way thats all
