TalkTalk...Like getting blood from a stone!!

I got an 18 mnth contract with the dreaded TalkTalk back in Oct. 2009 for home phone and broadband. Back in July 2010 me and my partner split briefly and I cancelled the direct debit to TalkTalk, allowing her to pay the bill by debit card over the phone. Back in Dec.2010 we were as a couple once more and I phoned TalkTalk to set up another direct debit via my bank account. The guy on the phone in the Indian call centre said it would be set up in 14days. This was not the case.

In Feb. 2011 I emailed their customer services to ask when or if the direct debit had been set up for. I also asked if they could help me reset my password for my online account so that I could see my billing and itemised bills etc as it wasnt allowing me access. I had no response from them. 2 weeks later I emailed them again and got a response from them telling me the date the direct debit was set up for(15th of each month from March 2011 and not the 14 ays after the call in Dec 2010!) but this didnt resolve my problem of accessing my online accout to see all my billing. They said it would be resloved within 14 days, that was in early March!

Then in Feb. and March this year TalkTalk tried to extract money from my account via direct debit un-beknowest to me. I got charged £8.00 each time by Barclays for this as there wasnt enough money in my account to cover the direct debit.I complained to both Barclays Bank and TalkTalk by letter and email about this and only Barclays responded and basically said it wasnt their error,it was TalkTalk's and so tough luck and goodbye! I had to pay the £16.00 in charges and promptly cancelled my direct debit with TalkTalk.

TalkTalk cut me off in mid April and even though I have emailed them 3 times now and written to them once(office in Southampton which is 16 miles from where I live in Portsmouth) I still havent had a satisfactory response from them. They still havent told me how to access my online account to see my bills, havent sent me an itemised bill and are now saying I owe them £119!Some of this was for April/May when we had been cut off.We can still get incoming calls only but havent made a call out or used the internet since mid April.Even if I was paying just the standard line rental and broadband(which I cant use now) it would still only be £18 for May and they are claiming I owe them £26 for May alone!

TalkTalk are very unhelpful and like I say,its like trying to get blood from a stone. They are very unresponsive and when I do get a response its very inadequate and goes something like "if you access your online account you can see all your billing there"..... GRRRRRRR:mad:

Please can anyone suggest where I can get help? I am not paying TalkTalk a penny till they show me exactly what I owe them for and why.I am loathe to try the local CAB as I used them last week for something and to be honest, the old lady didnt really tell me anything I didnt know or have knowledge of already.
