hi i have just bought a Kenwood kdc-4547u stereo, i have it all in place fine and all was ok till i switched ignition off and then returned to car 10 minutes later to find it had lost its preset stations and had returned to the default demo mode, I’m no expert but I’m sure I remember something a while back about swapping the red and yellow wire around on connector or am I just imagining this. If this is so does anyone have a guide for doing this or if there is something else I need to do then I would be most great full for some help. my car is Citroen xsara Picasso 2002 hdi .

Better off posting in the motoring forum to be honest.
I don't have the right answer for you but it's to do with the wires going into the back of the radio not being correct as you say and needing swapping round. There needs to be a bit of power going to the radio at all times otherwise the presets get wiped every time you switch the engine off.

They seem to change colours on radio looms every few years, but last time I looked, the red wire should be "ignition switched" 12V and orange should be "always on" 12V. The orange wire should be connected to the Mem connector on the radio.0

What you need to do is unplug the DIN connector from the back of your stereo (the black block thing that came with your stereo, no need to mess with the cars internal wiring) then switch the RED and the YELLOW cables around - just pull them out, they may be a bit of a struggle, but they're just small pins. That will sort your problem out.
