Hi

Wondered if anyone could give me any pointers as to how i cope on minimum wage 16 hours a week. Went from a 40 hours per week at job last year to a min wage 16 hours job this. I was pushed from my old job as i couldnt relocate so got a bit of a payoff which has now all but gone. I downloaded some forms for housing/ council tax and tax credits is there anythign else i could claim too? have 2 children under 20 living here as well as my wife and I.

How old are your children? Does your wife work?

wife doesnt work, children are 13 and 18 (in full time education)

It's not realistic to maintain a household of four on an income from just 16 hours a week, so you really need to take a second job, or your OH needs to find work.

Also, the 18 year old could get a part time job to help out...
