Eon-threatened to ditch them, then they lower our bill
Got our duel utility bill from Eon this morning, they were going to hike our duel bill up by £40 a month!
Phoned them up to tell them we were off to compare prices. They asked us to hang on, did a few sums/ comparisons then came back with a deal.
We are now paying £1 LESS than we did originally.
I wonder if most people just accept the rise in prices?
I must admit this is the first time we have done this-wish we'd tried before.

Sorry to say this, but it sounds like you have fallen for the oldest trick in the book.
"Stay with us we will lower your direct debits" (despite prices going up and you using more than you are paying for therefore ending up in debt in 6 months time)Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
You can either have £100 of energy for £100 per month and not build up a debt or have £100 of energy for £50 a month which means you build up a debt and are not able to move to a cheaper supplier when prices rocket in the future. Unless you have cast iron projections of your costs all you have done is locked yourself in to that supplier.
They dropped my dd by £13 last month, £12 below my actual spend and just as I am about to come off the cheapest plan in the world. Luckily I know exactly what I use and have forecast future costs, the money goes into a budget account so I have the funds to service any debt that builds up.

Our gas usage is apparently normal but electricity extremely high, so we are looking into why this is so
