Orlando Hotel and Credit Cards

Wonder if anyone can help?
My mum and her friend (both in their 70's) are spending 3 nights in Orlando before joining a cruise.
Neither of them have a credit card. From what I remember from a previous florida holiday the hotel require a credit card on check in, to cover brakages, room service, calls etc. Would it be possible to use a Visa Debit card (they have already established this can be used on the cruise), or would they be able to leave a cash deposit for their stay?

Debitcard can be used. It will go through the standard visa system and will be treated like a credit card when swiped. Just makesure you have enough funds as they will frezze so much money per nights stay.0
