Old school unifoms

My daughter's infant's school is merging with the attached primary school and both will be changing to one, new school uniform. This means that as of July each parent of around 300 pupils is going to be saddled with old sweatshirts and cardigans that they have no use for. I was wondering if there was a way of putting them to good use (maybe a less fortunate school in Africa or somewhere similar could make good use of them)
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Are there any schools in the surrounding area who wear the same colour of shirts/skirts/trousers etc?
Your school could collect them and donate them to the other schools?
When my DD's school changed uniform the kids were still allowed to wear the older version for quite a few years after it.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

I agree, if theres say no logo on the tops and their a plain colour you could donate them to that schools shop. As of Africa, all I could say is put them in a donation bag. Maybe look into textile companies?New year, new comper here!

Alternatively you could raise funds for your own school by using bags 2 school. I have just used this company to do a fundraising clothing collection for my local club. Very simple to do.0

When our school changed uniform a couple of years ago all the old stuff was collected in and sent (complete with school logo) to our link school in Malawi.
The children there were over the moon about it.0
