The important point to consider is that Online Conveyancing (Drummonds) is a larger firm.
Your local firm will be a couple of solicitors, so what do you do in August when they go on holiday while your case sits on their desk?
You want size and economies of scale and for that you should not choose a small local firm.0 -
You're only talking £100 more if you add the local authority and drainage search fee + VAT that the local solicitor quoted for.
I'm no expert but I think conveyancing prices quoted depend on the purchase price of the property. I've started proceedings on 3 different properties in the last 6 months with the same solicitor and I got 3 different quotes. The houses ranged from 207k to 280K and the cheaper house got me the cheaper quote. Have to say my legal fees are more than both quotes you have received.0
