Hi guys, newbie here :)

I was wondering if anyone has had experience selling their hair for money? Any tips? I heard you can make quite a lot from it!

Not much these days, lots coming in from eastern Europe. I don't even know if you can do this in uk at all.

Anyway it has to be long, in good condition, and natural condition/colour so no perm/chemical straightener/colour.
Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j

OU student: A103 , A215 , A316 all done. Currently A230 all leading to an English Literature degree.

Any advice given is as an individual, not as a representative of my firm.

just out of intrest how do the hair people make money?
if they pay you 500 they would need to make a profit wouldnt they?

im estimating £500 as i have really long hair, i guess its all about how much you put up for sale. They'll make their money probably by creating a few wigs or bunches of hair extensions with my hair. the site that im looking at to sell is buyandsellhair.com. people have sold for some pretty high prices as youll see.

Wow, this makes me wish I'd never dyed my hair! I have really long hair and am getting it chopped soon, didn't realise you could get this much for it!

    i didnt know either!

Apparently, according to their FAQ you still have a chance at selling dyed hair:

My hair has been coloured / treated – can I still sell it?
Although virgin hair is generally preferred, treated hair is still purchased by some hair buyers. However, it is recommended that you are more flexible in your pricing – it’s a good idea to leave your listing open to offers.
