i ordered a tv from currys for £500, the day it was due for delivery it dropped by £100. to £400. does the contract start from the date of the receipt or the delivery date. could i get a part refund. i also told him i wanted one with a pc input and he said it had one, but it doesnt. i am feeling bad about taking it back as i already have had 2 swaps due to 2 faulty ones. what should i do. any ideas anyone. cheers daz.

Brace yourself for the inevitable bleating of "if it went up in price would you offer to pay them the extra hundred pound blah blah blah" but pay these people no heed!
Ring them up and ask them, nothing to lose and maybe a lot to gain! It can pay to be cheeky now and again.
Certainly if you want a PC input and the TV in question doesn't have that feature despite what the salesman has told you then I'd tell them you want a different one. Seems obvious to me.

Within 7 days just ring them up and they will put the difference back into your account.
08445 61 62 63 Would be the best number to call (Option 2)
What TV is it btw?0 -

if you have paid for it at £500 and it drops in price on the delivery date then i am afraid its just bad timing on your part and you cant get it part refunded.i also told him i wanted one with a pc input and he said it had one, but it doesnt. i am feeling bad about taking it back as i already have had 2 swaps due to 2 faulty ones. what should i do. any ideas anyone. cheers daz.
did the specs in store or online say it had a pc input, you can always try and contact the store and say you asked for one with a pc input and the salesman said it had one but it does not, so you want a one with a pc input as requested or a refund.0 -

You have up to seven days, from the day after delivery, to cancel the contract. Call Currys to cancel the order (there will be no cost to you) and then re-order at the new price. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

OR
and this is a big OR, just phone up saying the price has dropped and the operator on the phone will follow the procedures to refund the difference as the handbook states.0 -
Are you assuming this deal is covered by Distance Selling Regulations? You have up to seven days, from the day after delivery, to cancel the contract. Call Currys to cancel the order (there will be no cost to you) and then re-order at the new price.
The OP hasn't said whether he bought it in a store or otherwise, has he?0 -
The OP has written:i ordered a tv from currys for £500
So one would naturally assume that they have purchased the item from a distance. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
Even if bought in store, the OP is able to return the item provided that it is unboxed and unused according to their returns policy.0

God dam, I think people must be ignoring me.
Currys/Pcworld have a policy in place where if the price drops within 7 days from delivery/purchase in store you phone up (or take the receipt in) and they refund the difference.
Saves all the hassle of taking products back or sending them back and reordering.
Just a Further Edit
http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/s/contact-us.html You can contact them and select the option of "My Item was delivered less then 7 days ago and the price has dropped.0
