Off to London next Weds(1/7)-Fri(3/7). The hotel want £16.95 per person per day for an english breakfast, which works out around £64. I know London is pricey but refuse to pay £64 for 2 breakfasts. We are staying at the Holiday Inn,cromwell rd, kensington, SW7 4DN. If anyone knows where we can get a decent breakfast without breaking the bank or any online vouchers would be great. Already printed the online 2for1 at Zizzi for one of the evenings but nothing as yet for breakfast.

Any links or recommendations would be great.

not sure what your budget is but if you're looking for really cheap breakfast there's a burger king voucher for a 99p sausage-egg-cheese butty and burger king is a few mins from your hotel. http://www.burgerking.co.uk/offers

there's also a mc donalds right next door.

if you're thinking slightly higher priced there are plenty of cafes on gloucester road (right next door, 1 min walk) that would do an english breakfast for £4 / £5. don't remember the exact names but just as you get on to gloucester road next to the tube station there are 2/3 cafes that advertise their breakfasts so you can't miss them. also a PAUL bakery right opp the station if you fancy croissants etc. there's pret a manger and starbucks and everything you can imagine one after the other so definitely avoid paying for an over-priced hotel breakfast. this may help http://www.allinlondon.co.uk/directory/tube-99-1103.php

Definitely don't pay that much for breakfast, even in South Ken which isn't the cheapest area there are loads of places cheaper. Your hotel is actually right next to Gloucester Road tube station, and just down from that is Caffe Forum, just a small place but really lovely people and amazing value. I'm new so can't post links but if you type it into UrbanSpoon it'll give you the location. I have only eaten there in the evening but the pizzas are great and I know a lot of people who swear by their breakfasts. Will probably cost around £5 each.

If you wanted to grab something quickly then I'd also recommend the sandwich shop which you'll find if you walk north up Gloucester Road. It's not a sit down place but does ridiculously cheap baguettes which are amazing, you can get a huge sausage or bacon baguette in the morning for less than £2. Definitely recommended if you wanted to pick up something for a lunch one day as well.

If you fancied somewhere a bit posher, then I love Le Pain Quotidien in South Kensington, great atmosphere and it has some gorgeous pastries. Similarly there are a couple of Paul bakeries nearby. These will cost you a bit more than the average cafe but considerably less than £16.95 and will taste a lot better too.

On the whole, the South Ken/Gloucester Road area is definitely not short of cafes (there's always a Starbucks nearby!) so you will easily find something to suit if you have a wander, it's definitely not worth paying what the hotel are asking!

I am unable to locate the Zizzi 2 4 1 voucher. We have a £20 gift voucher and would love to use it with a BOGOF. I assume this is ok, as the voucher surely is the equivalent of cash. Its a gift card.

    Thanks:beer:
