Cancelled cruise

Can anyone give us some advice. A cruise company have cancelled our cruise and rescheduled different cruises. However our cruise left from Hong Kong and ended in Beijing so that is where the flights were booked from and too. The cruise company have offered a full refund of cruise or change to other cruise plus £120 towards cost of changing flights. However flights are not refundable, so neither of these offers will help us. Can we claim flights back through our insurance because the cruise has been cancelled? Would appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance.

you need to check your insurance policy to see if you are covered for the consequential losses incurred by the cancellation

Please do keep us posted on your progress. I have an annual policy but have seen some policies now advertised as "cruise" insurance policies. I've wondered if these are really necessary or if an ordinary policy such as mine does the same job.

Check the insurance, DIY holidays often means you are not covered.

Sometimes it is worth taking cruiseline air to make sure this does not happen.

Check the airline thye may make a change if you tell them why.

Can you get the cruise line air department to try to negotiate with the airline to change the flights to fit any alternative dates.

Look for another cruise that can use the flights or do a land holiday.

Some annual policies do not cover cruises so you need to check.
