NHS Redundancy

Advice welcome

I have worked for my NHS employer since 2006 in a bank (as and when needed) health care post until 2009 when I started a full time substansive post at a hospital with looming closure and relocation 20 miles away. I am not able to relocate and there is no suitable posts open to me at present, so rather than ask for redundancy, I agreed with HR to take unpaid leave for three months to care for my disabled child. I have now decided to extend my carers leave but HR are not able to advise me on this as the person who arranged it origionally is on sick leave until further notice. my 3 months is nearly up and HR have not returned my calls for advice re my right to voluntary redundancy as I need to be a carer long term, upto 2 years, so I need to know what the best option is.

thanks

    This could get complicated.

Especialy if HR don't have a clue.

I guess the best would be an A4C MARS ore redundancy with a service date back to 2006.

I think this gives 1 months per year and AIUI would be based on the pay in the period before you took unpaid.

First will be the service, this will probably need a look at the bank contract in place in 2006-2009 to see if this counts.
