Is that a boom and bust every 2 years?0 -
Ha ha
I bet Wimpey aren't laughing and joking about the property market at the moment.
"Current trading conditions in the US were described as “very poor”. Wimpey’s order book value currently stands at some $198m, a 68 per cent drop on last year."0 -
You'll find as much of that drop has been cause by the weak Dollar as much as poor real estate performance. It's only marginally relevant to our current circumstances.
If you take a moment to check the share price you'll see there was no major movement to reflect any uneasyness amoungst shareholders. Seeing as the company has a current valuation of little over 2.2 billion sterling, $198Million isn't really a great deal as a percentage is it.0 -
ah the magical US quote AGAIN.
I don't give a t*ss about the house prices in the next county let alone a completely different country/continent!
1989 - I was 10 I had expected appendicitis was in hospital for 2 weeks, doctors thought they were going to operate, in the end I came out it was just a virus nothing serious!
very much the same as the housing crash, expected the worse, nothing happened! SPOOKY!
beware of the 18 year cycles! the 100 year ones are awful, they have a MUCH bigger front wheel and you're up about 10 foot off the ground, think they're called penny farthing!0
