Hiya guys
I am after a digital camera for my mum for xmas, I am not too clever about cameras and stuff like that. She just wants it to take pics on and print out every now and again, she isn't a photographer or anything, it is just 4 family photos..
I just wanted to know what sort of things I should look 4..i.e what makes a good camera..the pixels etc.
Also if you know of any bargains out there at the moment, that wud be great too.
Cheers

Best advice I can offer is to get down to Jessops and try a few. If you buy without trying you may be disappointed. The biggest thing you want to look for is shutterlag. Shutterlag is the time between pressing the button and the picture actually being taken. So you want to have a short a lag as possible. All compact digital cameras will have some sort of lag, whether brand name or not - you just need to find one you are comfortable with.
Once you have been to Jessops - look in WHSmiths at What Digital Camera etc and see what they say, look at sites like http://www.dpreview.com/ and see what other users say about the cameras you are interested in.
Once you have made your mind up - find the cheapest UK website that have the camera in stock, print out the page and take it to Jessops who should price match (I paid £310 for a lens in Jessops thru pricematching instead of the advertised £370).0 -
