i have 2 dd (4 years old and 16 months this year)
have already got from january sales - pjs for them both (£3 each), also a board book for dd2 (49p), xmas magic paint book for dd1 (49p), xmas disney princess CD (£1.49)
use each year - 2 x fabric sacks to leave out for FC, Santa stop here sign, santa plate and bowl to leave FC's goodies out
need to get - xmas cartoon dvd (prob ebay), new magic key (we put it on the tree as a decoration on xmas morn but it fell off and broke last year when the cat attacked the tree!!), boxed cake mix (something like disney princesses, postman pat etc to leave for FC - £1 or so ), toothbrushes each, money in an envelope to go to village shop to get carrot for rudolf, chocs/sweeties, matey bubble bath
we make the cakes during the day and go to the village shop. we tend to bath the girls early and have the dvd in our pjs before sorting out the stuff for FC and rudolf0 -

hello, i have just been reading back on this thread and see your question, the size i got was 125x150, again sorry for not replying sooner.
I think i might get another if they still have them as i am not sure all 4 of us will snuggle under 1, and it will stop the kids from fighting over it!0 -

Made a hamper last year for first time.. from the elves as kids been so good throughout the year! (didn't do the elf in house thing - too hectic). My 4 kids loved it and it reinforced that Santa was real, esp with 8 yr old as a few friends had questioned it... if you don't believe, you don't receive! My 11 yr old went along with it and didn't ask questions!
In costco, I found xmas mugs with lids like polar bears, reindeers.. with hot choc sachet enclosed. Added marshmallows and candy cane stirrer.
poundland had a 'make your own crackers' set which kept them busy for a while too, and a mug to paint.
printouts to colour etc from http://www.activityvillage.co.uk
Ordered a wii game from Play which then realised was due in stock Nov 2011 so have that to look forward too for this year - can't remember exact title but with theme of Xmas elves winter games.
must wrap pressies earlier this year as last year was up until wee small hours of xmas morning and felt shattered most of xmas day!
must start making my list for this year!0 -

I know its 6 months away but I have started to get bits to put in my very first Christmas Eve hamper. I have looked at previous threads and think having a hamper is a fantastic idea, my children 2 and 5 will love it. So far I have a new set of pjs for children, myself and husband from the sales a few weeks ago. These are the other items on my to get / make list:-
Mately bubble bath
Christmas fleece blanket
Hot water bottles and covers
Reindeer food
Santa magic key
Hot chocolate snow cones
Popcorn
Christmas DVD
and for me bottle of bucksfizz!:rotfl:
This year will be the first year that we have a Christmas Elf (another great idea from this site) stay with us so I am thinking he will leave the hamper as a leaving gift.
What do you put in your Christmas eve hampers?
I can thoroughly recommend Asda's own bucks fizz. I got one last year for our Christmas Eve hamper and it was gorgeous & I don't like wine! (Well, wine doesn't like me)!
I really go all our on our Christmas Eve hampers but that's because it's just me and mum (and grandad for dinner) now and it's nice (and relatively cheap if you shop in the right sales and prepare when you see the right offers) but a really nice way to start Christmas when the shops are all shut up and it's dark outside around 4pm. It's even better when it's snowing like it was last year
I include stuff like:- Christmas Day Outfit (bought in sales)
- Christmas PJ's (or at least thick warm ones)
- Toiletries (Luxury ones rather than the every day type. Stuff like Lush bits etc)
- Set of Christmas jewellery (All cheap but very shiny and festive)
- Fluffy bedsocks
- Fleecy blanket
- Money for a takeaway
- Pot of gold
- Selection Box
- Chocolate Orange
- Christmas DVD
- Bucks Fizz

I love the idea of a Christmas Eve hamper for the adults too
Have decided what dd is having in hers, pj's, slippers, dvd (beauty and the beast) with matching belle dress up, christmas blanket, hot water bottle, festive sweets/choc and some healthy treats, reindeer food and santa key. Will also have new clothes for the day but will keep those seperate.
I think it would be lovely for the adults to have new pj's, clothes etc. The creature comforts to enjoy Christmas eve.Comping wishlist for 2017
1. Family holiday 2. Christmas presents :rudolf: 3. Fishing stuffThe more you put into life, the more you get out0 -

Hi I will be doing my first xmas eve hamper this year for my two year old son (will be two by then). I thought it might be an idea to decorate a white cardboard box (with a lid) with him during the day (draw/paint on it, stick things on etc) and leave that out for the elves to fill if he has been good. Does anyone else do this or does it sound daft? Thanks!0
