with all the talk of rising gas/electricity, I have looked at our current situation. We are on the BG websaver 10 which has a 6% saving on the standard tariff which is guaranteed until 28 April 2012. We are tied into this until 12 Feb and if we change tariff or supplier before then we will incur a £60 penalty.
Does anyone think it would be worth changing now and pay the penalty rather than wait until Feb/April next year when the tariffs could be a lot higher (if we should believe the hype)

Work out what your gas and electricity will cost from now until 12 Feb.
Then work out what it will cost if you switch to someone else plus £60.
Whatever works out the cheaper is the way to go.0 -
But only if you are contemplating switching to a fixed or capped tariff. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
