Mp3Wrap - Ubuntu Meerkat

Options
Hey folks,

I downloaded a parsed interview of Orson Welles being interviewed by !!!!!! Cavette from youtube. Changed these into mp3 via Sound Converter and then wanted to wrap them together in the correct sequence. So, i downloaded mp3wrap and tried to wrap all 7 downloads into one continuous mp3, but for some reason it will only wrap the first mp3.
EG - mp3wrap "1 welles.mp3" "2 welles.mp3" "3 welles.mp3" "4 welles.mp3" "5 welles.mp3" "6 welles.mp3" "7 welles.mp3" > interview.mp3.

However, Interview.mp3 only contains "1 welles.mp3"

anyone got any ideas where im going wrong?

    Hi
    Why use mp3wrap?
    Try with cat instead.
    Like this:-
    cat "1 welles.mp3" "2 welles.mp3" "3 welles.mp3" "4 welles.mp3" "5 welles.mp3" "6 welles.mp3" "7 welles.mp3" > interview.mp3

  • tried CAT & have the exact same issue. can you concatenate mp3 because they each have their own structure?

    Yes.
Get rid of the spaces in the file names.
Use 1welles.mp3 etc instead of 1 welles.mp3 etc.
Then run cat without all those quotes.

  • Oh, i must also say that although the outputted mp3 is the first mp3, the entire outputted file is the size of the sum of mp3's..... which is weird!

create a new folder on the desktop (naming it mp3 for example), copy the files into it.

then open up a terminal and do the following:
    sudo apt-get install shntool
    cd Desktop/mp3
    shntool join *.mp3

and convert the resulting .wav file to mp3.

The above process has worked fine for me when joining 2 flac files in the past.

just tried that and it sais that it cant handle the input file
