I stupidly signed up falling for it!
This was over a month ago and I haven't recieved any work. At the beginning the lady Natalie would say she had some things in the pipeline and she would give me a call, however I haven't heard anything and I have been calling everyday for the past week.

    DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

I'm just thankful I only registered for 3 months! :(

Seriously. How many warnings do people need??

The emails from that Nigerian Prince...ignore them.

    Hi

I have been called today in response to my application and am really tempted. If I had £400 and if they guaranteed at least 3 days per week then you could make this back in no time.

So you wouldnt mind working £400 worth of hours for free then?

    Hi People,

I was wondering if someone could help me out. I saw an advert through a company called "FIRST CHOICE RECRUITS" they source staff for events and different types of functions- such as hosts, people to work on trade stands, attend conferences etc....

Anyway to the point- they all sound amazing bla bla bla- BUT to sign up with them its £250 for 3 months, £400 for 6 months or £700 for a year! now, rule of thumb if it sounds great and you have to pay up front then I wouldnt go there- but im intriged if anyone else out there has worked for them? The only thing I could find on the internet about them was their own website and about 100 adverts for work in various regional newspapers.

I would be interested in finding out more about this company- I find it odd I cant find any information about them, they charge to join and without even seeing my cv they can practically guarentee work....

    all information would great ;-)

    Many thanks!

I'm sorry but i cannot believe anybody would be stupid enough to fall for this. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is. There was something like this on a watchdog program but it involved driving. I've been unemployed for around 5 months and would rather die than fall for something like this. You'll find something else, hang on in there :)
  • This is a complete scam. They told me I was going to get loads of work- asked if I was available the weekend approaching etc etc. and then as soon as I registered and paid £250 i basically couldn't get through and whenever i did I was told that Ali Mckenzie (the person who recruited me) was on holiday. I now can not get through to them at all. I know the work isn't guaranteed but they sold it to me implying that there was definitely going to be work coming my way etc etc.

DO NOT SIGN UP WITH FIRST CHOICE RECRUITS. I think they even remove negative posts about themselves because i searched and found just one and they told me it would be there competitors and then conveniently threnext day it had disappeared!
  • I have had a similar experience. I thought it was worth a punt as i work freelance anyway, but like others, a promise of 3 days work for "someone like you" from Natalie and since they received the money, no contact, hard to get through. This is a scam, do not be fooled!!!!
  • Just want to say to anyone who is thinking about joining first choice recruit. DONT DO IT!!!!! I did and i'm about £250 short . They told me I would be working at many events??? With rewarding pay. But it never happened!!! After paying the money I basically never heard from them again. Its a complete scam!!! Dont make the same mistake I did. I tried calling the company suprisingly no one answered....
They are very unprofessional and after taking my money made NO attempt whatsoever to get back in touch with me regarding work. Worst company i've ever heard of. I'd probably get a better service at Mcdonalds.
