    Bless you Cleaver.
You, above all people, take your time making many rational points to many of the fringe elements on here. You do it in a measured manner and with a level tone. I know you don't expect a coherent reply, your odd barbed line gives it away. Just so you're clear, the sensible few on here also don't expect you to get a coherent reply, so why do you waste so much time highlighting their idiocy to us?
You know they're daft and now you know we know they're daft. Even some of them know they're daft.
Those that don't know, think you're daft, and no amount of level headed reasoning will convince them it's themselves that is daft..... as you know.
You're a more patient man than me, that's for sure, but I'm just not sure who you're left trying to convince?

To be fair though Jonny, is there any point to any of us posting on this board? A few dozen people arguing back and forth on the same, dull topics, none of whom will ever change their opinion or stance. If you're going to post something then just post it, as it's all a bit pointless.

Not even in the wake of a global financial breakdown and a house price crash similar in scale (though 5x quicker) than the 90's Crash.

I thought this forum was part of the selection process by which they choose members for the Bank of England's monetary policy committee. Do you mean to say that I've put in all these hours making dull comments lacking credibilty or insight and starting countless threads about inflation and I'm not even going to get a job out of it?

    Why me God? Why?

Nope. Not even in the wake of anything. For example you, Brit, doire and a few others will only ever consider the idea of house prices falling and will only ever engage in negative views and post negative articles. Hamish, sibley, rinoa and a few others will only every consider the idea of house prices rising and will only ever engage in positive views and post positive articles.

I think that if there was a nuclear bomb tomorrow, and somehow the six people mentioned above survived in a bunker, you'd all get straight on the net and post your articles about how house prices would fall / rise (delete depending on your side) based on the news. Nothing would change.

    I agree. This is true.

What I will say though is I'm not really that bothered about house prices. I just hate the mean spirited way some (not all) of the HPC bears set about trying to flood websites with their doom and gloom stuff.

Most of them do not have the means to buy. It's not home owners fault. They dished it out on their site then when it started to become obvious that prices would not crash they banned everyone before we could hit them with ' I told you so'

Once prices rise and I am happy they have been smashed to pieces I'll be happy. This weeks news has given a lot of them a bad day at the office.

I keep imagining them buying petrol and looking at the Express headlines. :rotfl:

But cleaver, sweetie, house prices did fall, are falling, and look likely to continue falling.

So in the most critical and important way, no, I'm not the same as Hamish and Rinoa (aka Columbo).

What does that have to do with anything? I agree with you though, for what's it's worth.

How does that make you different from people who use this forum in exactly the same way as you? You're not the same as Hamish to be fair, as I think he's a lot more intelligent than you. But I think you're very, very similar to Sibley. On the surface you look different, but you could really be the same person.
