Lost Prescription

Does anyone know what happens if you lose a prescription? Does Doc just give you another one, or is it assumed you're a secret junkie/dealer and you have to wait until the next one is due?

Yup, that'll do it...
What Mupett said, should do the trick.
It's possible the Docs will fax the 'script over to the pharmacy and you pick it up from there.C.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z # 40 spanner supervisor. No problem can withstand the assault of sustained thought.Only after the last tree has been cut down. Have done this and docs gave a new script no problem but then I suppose it depends what its for as well, if its a controlled drug they may have a few more issues with it.0

My doctor would ring the local pharmacy to check whether it had been dispensed but of course couldn't ring every one in town.
He'd issue a replacement if it hadn't, but you'd only "get away" with losing the one.0 -
totally depends what the script was for -
CDs and another range of interesting medication would get the radar ++ going plus a fax / e-mail to every chemist for miles around letting them know that the script was lost ....
any other meds - probably just a new script0 -
Yes, that's what was worrying me, as a friend told me that she'd had to tell the Police when she lost hers.
I phoned the surgery this morning and they prepared me a new one, no problem. I've come in from work this afternoon to find the one I'd lost has been pushed through the letterbox!0 -
When you go to the surgery to pick up the replacement 'script, take the original with you, so they know it is 'safe'.C.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z # 40 spanner supervisor. No problem can withstand the assault of sustained thought.Only after the last tree has been cut down. I've lost a prescription before, the GP was happy to write a new one, and was also happy to give me a spare one in case I ever lose a prescription or the medication again.
I think as others have said it depends on what's on the prescription.0
