Home Insurance & criminal record.

I recently renewed my building & contents insurance and declared that my son (living at home) had a recent conviction for ABH. The insurance quote went from £172 to £467!! My son has served his comunity service etc and is not a policy holder so I asked why "I" should be penalised. I didn't really get a straight answer so i rang the insurance ombudsman who although agreed with me said they couldn't do anything about it.
I believe I have been treated unfairly as "I" have done nothing wrong yet am expected to pay three times the premium (the next cheapest quote was £815!!) Also my son has paid for his crime already so why should it increase the premium?
I would like to follow this up but am at a loss as to who/how to go about it.
Any ideas/thoughts would be apreciated.
Thanks, Paul

Nothing you can do, if he lives with you, your insurance premium is based on the activities of your household. Cut your losses and move on.
