resurrecting this thread...
I sent in my ILR application in December and is still waiting for UKBA to send my passport back to me (Not sure how long more I will have to wait...)
I came across a house that both me and my wife are really keen on, do you think any bank (or know any bank) that will offer mortgage on ILR awaiting decision?0 -

Till you receive your passport, you don't even know what your status is going to be. Do you really think it is a good time to purchase a house?
Your wait should almost be over, hang on and apply for mortgage when you receive ILR.
It also depends on when your current stay expires? If it has already expired then NO will be a logical answer.Nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. - Alex Supertramp0 -

My wife sent her ILR applicationon the 6th of December 2012 and we just got her passport and ILR back about 4 weeks ago, so they are taking ages at the moment.
We applied directly to Barclays in 2010 when she was on a Tier 1. We are both named on the mortgage, but for budget purposes I only asked for my salary to be taken into account at the time which may have made things simpler.• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.
