Personalised Debit Cards - Stupid Ones?

Just a random thought, but has anyone ever succeeded in getting a personalised debit card (Natwest Adapt, Halifax Mycard, that kind of thing) with a stupid picture on? Like "Natwest Sucks" on it?

I very much doubt they would allow it, they do have the right to refuse offensive, obscene or rude pictures.

But on the other hand I know with Halifax's personal cards on renewal they charge you, so in effect they are charging you for insulting them.

To be honest they could also quite rightly close your account down and refuse to have your custom if that is what you think of them. If it were my business I would not like a customer like that and would quite frankly be much happier without them!:D

No bank will close your account for saying that they suck. If they did this forum would lead to about 39340 closed accounts every day ;)

Nobody who works in any environment should have to tolerate any sort of insult/abuse from anyone. Any business has a right to decline, turn away or refuse a customer on those grounds. All I am saying is if it was my business I would not tolerate it, and I would advise that they are no longer welcome.

If you think a bank sucks just take your business elsewhere, thats the beauty of a free market.

If you stick with a company that doesn't suit your needs, then its you that's the mug.

Thing is though if it was "Random Q. Cashier Who Works In The W4nkington-upon-Qu1m branch of NatWest Is A !!!!!!!" I'd understand that, they don't deserve the crap personally and it's clearly defamatory. "NatWest Sucks" is a bit more general, especially when NatWest is as big as it is.

And this very forum is full of people saying Santander or whoever suck gigantic donkey balls. They don't get their accounts closed. Mind you if they did they'd have no customers left. They wouldn't close your account for expressing an honest opinion.

Sure they've got the right to close someone's account because of "NatWest Sucks", but they probably wouldn't. If it was the former then I'd very much understand it. Not least if I was Random Q. Cashier.

    Very true Juicy Jesus.

Do you think if it was Santander they would probably make some mistake along the line and end up printing something like........

    Santander Smucks
    Santander Socks

They'd probably find a way to munge "I <3 Santander" into "Santander Are The Infernal Hair Upon Satan's Testicles".

Because when Santander fail, they like to FAIL.

  • I tried to get them to print a flag on my card and they wouldn't then I tried to get them to print a skull and cross bones and they wouldn't then I tried a fake pilots licence and they obviously didn't. I did eventually get them to print one with one of those "magic eye" 3D pictures (the ones that just look like a pattern and you have to stare at and go cross eyed to see a picture appear) with a very rude word on it! lol
