Halfords customer service is rubbish

I am currently trying to buy a maxi cosi car seat, and was pleased to see yesterday that the Halfords website had some on promotion at 50% off. However, some idiot had typed the prices in wrong, and instead of reducing them to £62.50 from £125, they had increased them to £162.50(!).

So I called them to see if there was anything they could do. The lady on the phone was polite, but pretty much just checked the computer and then told me they were £162.50, but they would be back down to £125 tomorrow. She steadfastly denied that it was a pricing error.

So I emailed them, hoping that they would honour the spirit of the promotion, even tho it was for yesterday only. I got a reply just now, saying that the car seats were not included in the promotion after all (despite the website clearly stating that they were!). No explanation for the mysterious one day price increase either...

Obviously if Halfords put the wrong price on then there's nothing I can do - I can't force them to sell me the car seat at what is obviously the intended price. But I do feel a bit better getting it out of my system...

On another note, anyone know where I can get a cheap maxi cosi cabriofix carseat from?? I'm a bit wary of getting a secondhand one from a stranger, as I have absolutley no idea if it has previously been in an accident. Or is there as way I can tell?
