Looming redunancy and current loan insurance due to expire soon - HELP!

Options
Hi
Any advice would be gratefully received.
The company I work for is shutting down the site that I work in but are currently in TUPE discussions with other companies.
This has been going on since February 2011.
Even though I know I will not be working for my current employer by end of 2012, I do not know if or when we may or may not be TUPE'd.
My question is this: I have PPI on a big secured loan and this PPI expires this October (currently going through the FOS for misselling of this PPI).
What I'm concerned about is are there any insurance companies that will allow me to take on a poilicy with them? Even though I dont know if I will lose my job (as maybe taken on by other company) can I take on a policy if I 'knowingly' see possible redunancy coming?
And if the answer is no I can't, how can I protect myself?
This is a secured loan so I don't want to lose my house due to poor financial choices in the past that I've made.
I am sick with worry and not sure what to do...can anyone help advise me please?
Thank you
