I think that, in the nicest possible way, he was saying that one of these is as much BS wrapped in fairy tales and powered by dreams as the offending chemical additive which is the subject of the thread. Can I presume that your nicely executed swerve to avoid the question whilst indulging in a teensy weensy bit of ad hominem, means that you might have missed the point? :D

    Cheers

I wasn't swerving the question, I was trying to understand why the plumber in question felt the need to try and lure me into trap.

    ...Now I'm swerving the question.

Part of the Furniture 10,000 Posts Name Dropper Combo Breaker
Vinegar - cheap bottle from the supermarket. Once every so often run the machine empty on the hottest wash. Cleans off the limescale.

    Works down the loo too.

Yes you were or at leaste deflecting it.

How was it a trap as it was you who introduced the product in the first instance?
    ...Now I'm swerving the question.
:D. But it doesn't matter as you clearly did miss the point.

It would seem that you have gone off on some other world tangent of your own so at this point I've missed the point by a couple of lightyears. Would you care to elaborate on what exactly you are going on about? What is the point? :rotfl:

Not at all I'm still well on track. Are you a politician by any chance?

    So to summarise...

Your 'point' is that you have interpreted by some telepathic miracle that another member of this forum has disagreed with something I have said?

Crikey, I'll have to take out a super injunction to keep that one under wraps. What would the papers say if they got hold of it?

"This just in - One MSE member disagrees with another member (as interpreted by a third member)"

In other news...Fukashima still critical, hundreds dead in US twisters..

OK then I'll spell it out for you then - 'cos you have been ducking and diving ever since. You have recommended an inline scale inhibitor to avoid having to use the likes of Calgon. That recommendation is absurd as the things are a total and utter con and waste of ime and money. Since when did you encounter magnetic chalk?

    Cheers

I think you have confused a sesi electrolytic scale inhibitor for a magnetic filter like Magnatec. They are like chalk and cheese (no pun intended). They are for entirely different purposes.

Ermm no I haven't. The said device whether electrolytic or magnetic will work forever and remain totally useless throughout its life. Still a gimmick!

    Did you mean Magnaclean?

Chalk and cheese? Like it - yes. :D Sure it wasn't intended?

There comes a point where the only way to win an argument is to accept that it was lost the minute I realised there was nothing to win and that by taking part in the first place made me the loser.

All the best buddy, enjoy the spoils. :rotfl:
