The best website

I have used a few different banking websites in my time. Most of them are quite good. That said I have to admit that the Barclaycard website is nothing short of outstanding. The lay out and the tools for analysing your spending are first class. The logging in is simple yet secure.
There is also a facility to receive text/email alerts when you spend over a certain amount and when your statement is ready and a reminder five days before your payment is due. It would be interesting to know if other readers have thoughts on this or any other websites.:T

Well I just find the redesigned Barclaycard site annoying. They have gone from html to flash. Yes, there are some nice bells and whistles if you spend all day there but, come on, an ''animated'' bank statement !!!!!!!
But I see that 'flashover' look is spreading to other banks too (presumably it's because the younger programmers think like this and the older olds just stopped learning pointless new jazzy styles when they got HTML to work properly.)
You can seen this 'over-design' of things in too many places - it's all surface paint and no one can drill down and ask critical, searching questions. And it ends with boy wonders like George Osborne 'running' - I mean 'in charge of' - the economy (yeah! like he's just turning the wheel on a super tanker with a broken rudder)
</rant>.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -
I actually think the Barclaycard website is pants. You can't even do basic things such as balance transfers or transfer money to your current account (obviously with extra security such as giving your tel numbers). I find the Virgin card (MBNA) website a lot better not only in terms of functionality but also in appearance.
As for current account internet banking, i'm impressed by Norwich & Peterborough's new internet banking site. Granted, it won't let you do everything online (eg apply for overdraft increase) but its very user friendly and doesn't bombard you with ads like Nationwide and HSBC. Oh and you don't need a stupid card reader to make transactions0 -
Santanders new one is very good IMO.0

I find all Barclays Online Sites to be rubbish, full of adverts and over complexed logins.
I have a Barclays A/c & Barclaycard but they aren't linked, I can't simply pay my Barclaycard bill direct from my Online Banking Barclays A/c.
I also use Lloyds & Nationwide, have A/c's and Credit Cards with both and on both there Online Banking site I can transfer funds to pay my Credit Card just like transferring to internal A/c.
Barclays are so bad compared to Lloyds I've stopped using my Barclays A/c and as for Flash based site that's just plain stupid when it's known not everything runs Flash based site (iPad/iPhone), they should be making access easier not limiting it.0 -
I reckon these posts just prove that what's sauce for the goose etc... We al have differing opinions.0
