eBay Occasional Seller - rant!

Morning all

Just wanted to moan & share my experience! I'm only an occasional seller on eBay & as I've moved house, decided a long over due clear out was necessary.

Painstakingly photographed my items/wrote descriptions, but when intending to list my 4th item, I was met by angry red box informing me that I cannot list anymore items in this particular category because they are "premium brands".

All my items are highstreet, River Island, H&M etc... how can this be classed as premium?! An originally purchased £19.99 top is in no way designer or premium.

eBay now suggest that I list my next batch of "premium brands" (highstreet - which all my unwanted items are!) after 30 days. I can still list, but without using the brand names in the title - which is ridiculous!

I wanted an easy & painless way to get rid of my items, whilst making a bit of pocket money on the side ... I don't want bags of unwanted clothes in my house for months! I guess at least the local charity shop will benefit.

Why does eBay make it so hard now for occasional sellers! :mad:

I too sell occasionally but have never had this problem? Do you have any restrictions on your account due to low dsr's?

OP could you list with high st brand in the title & the actual shop in the description? Or do small bundles, remembering that postage is capped at £4 in clothes.

This happened to me too. They wont tell you how many items you can list or when the 30 day period ends. I tried again a week later and it let me list more. You could do an obvious spelling mistake in the title like "clarkes" and spell it probperly in the text.

I had this when I had a Clarins gift one birthday, and listed the items separately to sell. Apparently I wasn't allowed to sell more than three of those at any one time and wasn't allowed to list the rest for 30 days. A real pain!

I guess they're trying to protect the business sellers in some way from casual sellers who might try and list lots of wholesale items...? I have no idea what the reason is otherwise!
