Booking a holiday through cash back sites - any advice?

Just wondering how safe it is to book a holiday through cash back sites? Do they see the details of when you will be on holiday thus letting them know when your house is empty? Also has anybody booked through one of these sites for James Villas and got their cash back? Cheekily asked JV if they would do it directly as a regular customer but obviously they said no!
Any help appreciated as I am new to this cash back business.

I can't see a security risk, but one issue, particularly in the travel section, is that some sites quote a higher price if you go via a cashback site so the saving can be an illusion. You have no legal right to the cashback, but in the majority of cases the money comes through eventually. There should be comments on the cashback site itself about customer experience with cashback and James Villas.0

I booked a Thomson holiday though TopCashBack. No problems, cashback came through ok. No need to worry about dates away, all TCB get is the referrer's money. It works by the holiday company web server noting which website the traffic came from (ie. TCB) and then sending TCB the relevent amount. TCB knows nothing except that it has money for your account.

Before booking you would of course know what the price is. Anytime I have used quidco the price I get is the same as without using quidco. Read the instructions very carefully for clearing cookies etc before making the booking. If the holiday company can track that you have been on their site already, you wont get cash back.
When using the cashback site, always be happy with the price you are paying anyway and when the extra money comes back to you it is a bonus. I have had once where it didnt track.weight loss target 23lbs/49lb0 -
Thanks all for the replies! Have booked it so time will tell. The cash back is a bonus as some of you have mentioned but paid by credit card to get the additional cover should JV go bust. The cash back will more than offset the credit card charge by JV so great if it comes through. Now debtfree except for the mortgage!0
