Any one know a Free Web site Template site

Hi all,

Does anyone know a good place to get good or at least reasonable quality free website templates that are easy to adapt and manipulate to suit your own needs. Or even ones that cost a small fee? I have a copy of Dreamweaver and was going to do my own and may do in time but i just don't have the time at the moment to learn how to use the software and develop my own website as I'm not after anything seriously amazing at the moment

Thanks to any help or advise

What sort of stuff do you want to do on your website? WordPress is primarily a blogging tool but it can also be used to create static sites. There is a phenomenal amount of templates (themes) and addins available for it.

I Just want to advertise my business online, Will need tabs for various information on the business and what we do and be able to up load examples of work.

There is loads on the net i cant believe how many, and people selling them on ebay, but that's why i came on here hoping someone would know of a decent place to go so i get it right first time or at least second time, there is a mountain of crap ones on the net and i could spend forever trying to find a good template.

    Thanks

You could take a look at http://themeforest.net/ for website templates and also http://graphicriver.net/ (same company) for web graphic elements (buttons, banners, menus etc) I believe there are a few freebies on there but the vast majority of it is paid for but very cheap.

    All the best... :D
  • Hi,
I use EKM Powershop and am very pleased so far (I have used some terrible ones in the past). They have loads of different templates which can all be customed by yourself. You can even custom the product and catergory pages and leave the homepage template untouched if you want to. They also have their own forums where people help each other out and personally i don't know what i would have done without them at times. If you have a Paypal account you can set up with them for £1 plus vat for three months and after that it's £20 per month but no tie in contract!! Just go to paypals homepage and follow the link from there. You can also try for free with EKM as they have a demo shop so if you don't like it....no problem.

Sorry I can't post the link on here as a new user! Definately worth a look though.

    Try http://www.oswd.org/

Open Source Web Design - they have a bunch of sample websites that you can adapt to your own requirements. Some of their sites have to be paid for, but they are clearly marked as such and most are free.

If you're not after anything amazing then why bother?

Why not save some money and get a web designer to put something together for you? If it's only a one page website then a good website can be put together for £40 including hosting and domain name.

I think you are playing a bit fast and loose with the word 'good'. A good lunch can be bought for £40, not sure so sure about a good website.

I can build a one page website for that with domain and hosting. A job like that will take a couple of hours max.
