Buying Electronics in Canada??

Don't know whether to put this in techie or here, but here seemed more relevant.

We are going to Canada in 3/4 months and I am after an Android Honeycomb tablet. Does anybody know if there is a substantial price difference between here and there (enough to make lack of warranty worthwhile?). I know nothing about prices in Canada, so any hints would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Before you go do some research on canadian sites/retailers then compare against the UK price. Note that sales and provinsial tax needs to be added onto the price in Canada and this will vary epending on the province you are purchasing in (Ontario is 15% I think). You will also have to purchase a UK power supply.

Due to the reducing value of sterling to the Can $, Canada is not the value destination it once was. Now purchasing in the US may be more favourable if you are there during your visit.

The way I usually compare prices between the UK and the USA is to use the Amazon sites for those counties.
There is an Amazon in Canada so you could do it that way.

    www.Amazon.ca

I've just compared a couple of electronic items on the Canadian and UK site and there's very little price difference on what I picked.
  • As another poster has put do watch the voltage as they are on 120 volts not 240. make sure it is suiltable for uk.Expensive to convert that way i believe.
