Pre Paid card for under 18's

Can someone please advise - having read the info on the main site regarding pre paid cards for under 18's; I think the Travelex Cash Passport in USA dollars- not the globe one - would be best for my 16 year old daughter who will be in the States for 2 weeks this summer. Am I right or is there something better?
Want her to be able to access cash at ATM or use card to pay for goods while she's away.
Thanx folks :)

Fairfx $ is usually a better card. I can't see why her age makes the slightest difference over how good a prepaid card is though? A prepaid card is a prepaid card.

    Hi,

We went to florida last autumn and we got a pre pay card from thomas cook. It was free and didn't charge to use in shops/restraunts etc but charged to withdraw money. At the time it was the cheapest we found for withdrawal fees and if you're loading a good amount on there they give you a better exchange rate.
  • I was under the impression even pre paid cards were mostly restricted to over 18's. Thanks for the help.

If you have a fairfx card, you can have an additional friends and family card to give to anyone over the age of 14. The card is topped up using your account, so you could add extra funds to it if she needed it. I have one, and have just got one for my hubby, so we can load all our spending money onto one account and split it between the cards. I've had my card for a few years, and found it very convenient to use, instead of travelers cheques
Debt free and staying that way!
