Praise - Samsung

Options
Posting this for 2 reasons - first to say thanks to Samsung and their agents for brilliant service, and second to make people aware that a fault which would otherwise cost about £160 to fix is covered for free even if your tv is several years old.

Our 40" Samsung LE tv started taking longer and longer to switch on, then last Thursday refused to switch on at all, just sat there clicking for a while. DH booked a local repair man for Saturday afternoon.

Next day I did a bit of googling and discovered that this is common with this particular range due to faulty capacitors and Samsung are repairing for free. Rang Samsung and they took my mobile number and promised me a call back shortly to arrange a visit. By the time I have found my phone and turned it on I had a missed call, followed by a text asking me to ring a local number. I did so and they immediately gave me an appointment the following Tuesday.

Repair man turned up on the dot, replaced the capacitors and a chip, retuned the tv and went on his way.

Fantastic!
Oh dear, here we go again.
