Butlins - Holiday now cheaper

Hi
We are going to Butlins the end weekend of this coming half term, booked it back in about January when they had a "sale", popped onto website today just to have a look to see that we had still got a bargain only to find that the price is lower than what we paid!! Is it worth a phone call in the morning to see if they will price match or is it just tough luck. We have never been to Butlins before, is this quite common for the prices to come down at the last minute, suppose if they have empty rooms they just want to fill them!
Thanks

Give it a try, why not? It is all about supply and demand of course, so it would not help their occupancy rates to give you some discount... but ... why not suggest they do you a deal, meet you partway, and upgrade you? Some chalets are nicer than others, maybe they can put you in one of the fresher ones? Some of the old ones are two-storey but the single storey ones are a bit quieter and nicer from experience.0

Im almost certain that if you book at their shop whilst you are at Butlins then they will pricematch if it goes cheaper, not sure if they will match if you just booked online tho.
Worth giving them a call though, most they can say is "no"0 -
agreed with both the above. Plus i would bump for a upgrade (how much cheaper is it?)Tell them you will not feel good as they have had your money for over half a year . If someone books tommorrow for a cheaper price and gets a better gaff than you. hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0

Well I tried and the answer was no, tough basically, was told if you book a holiday in a travel agent you pay a price if it then comes down later then you wouldn't expect a discount!! Its about £60 cheaper, think when I booked it was a third off and now it is 50%!! Do they actually ever have them at full price?0

A similar thing happened to me a few years ago with Haven.
They had sent me a mailshot, along the lines of book now as prices will go up. So I booked, and hey ho, nearer the time the price came down.
I phoned to complain and they refunded the difference.
I checked the prices again the day before the holiday and they'd come down again, so I phoned again. I was told that the previous refund was a gesture of goodwill, and that I should expect prices to be slashed for last minute left over holidays.
I was fuming because I'd had it in writing that prices would never be as low as the one I'd booked at, so i went to the trading standards.
It took a while to get thru to someone at TS who understood that I qwasnt querying the price reduction - I was querying their promise of the lowest price when I booked. But once someone twigged, he got the bit between his teeth and the issue was passed onto the TS in the town of Haven head Office.
End result - Haven phoned to apologise and gave me double the difference back, and a free upgrade for a future holiday (as I'd already been by then).*** Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly ***
