Proof of postage

Hi
I've just started selling on ebay again after a break. Previously I used to fill in a Certificate of postage with name address postcode etc and get the PO to stamp it. Now I've been told they no longer do this and its done on the receipt. Now I've been to the PO today and sent a parcel to Germany and asked for proof of postage but when I look at the receipt it just says £3.71 to Germany but has no proof of where it went to in Germany. I could have sent several parcels of the same value to Germany today, how does this prove I've sent it to the buyers address?
Many thanks

Thats great thankyou very much (saved to laptop), but does that mean the stuff I sent today, I can't prove I sent it if it goes missing?0
-
If the item goes missing than just write the address on the receipt yourself before sending it to get money from the royal mail.0
-
So that would be acceptable then? ie RM (or the buyer if they asked) would accept that as proof?0

My proofs of postage have just the basic address details handwritten in biro by the P O staff, so writing it yourself wouldn't be noticed.0

I've had COP done 4 ways recently.
An actual COP form completed by the clerk.
A receipt with the address added by the clerk
A printed COP, clerk input details to computer and printed it off.
I completed the COP form from the RM site and the clerk stamped it.0 -
My COP are the print outs with the postcode & house number handwritten on. I think that parcel receipts have the address printed on.0

I have claimed for 2 lost items this year with just the receipt from the P.O. - and have bee refunded both times.
Just write the name/postcode of recipient on receipt before claiming.0 -
you were clearly lucky - after supplying complete and original receipts etc and having chased and chased an unanswerd claim I had to go to Postal Review Panel to sort out a cheque for my lost item.chemical.galaxy wrote: »I have claimed for 2 lost items this year with just the receipt from the P.O. - and have bee refunded both times.

The PO can do receipts with the address typed on them (I recently posted to Germany and the staff member typed in the full address) - but of course that takes more effort that just giving you a basic receipt and maybe hand-scribbling a post code on it. Following my awful experience with a lost item I will not accept any receipt that does not have an address on it - and if the staff member just hands me a hand-written postcode on it I ask them to officially date stamp over their writing. I'd rather be safe than sorry.0
