ESA Work Related Group

Hi All,

Can someone help me please??

My partner had a medical done by Atos on 5th May 2011, Today we recieve a phone call to say that he needs to attend the Jobcentre for an interview because he has been put inthe work related activity group. We have not recieved any letter or anything.

He has been in the Support Group for 2years now, Following a major RTA where he ended up witha brain inury. I know he cant get into the Jobcentre for the interview, He cant approach unfamiliar ground, due to panic attacks & agrophobia. He will proberly never be able to return work due to his brain being damaged and him not comping with too much stress, noise, information.

Are we wet to loose a huge amount of money due this happening??

I am so worried about it all.

Hope somebody can put my mind at rest.

Thanks In Advance
xx

Give the JC a ring and ask to speak to the person your partner is supposed to be having his interview with. Explain that you have been told he's been put into the WRAG and have been told to come for an interview but that he's been on the Support Group for the last few years because he's unable to leave the house. Ask whether it would be possible to postpone the interview or have it over the phone (if your partner is capable of discussing things over the phone) or have a home visit.

Providing you're polite and are trying to come to a compromise with the advisor I'm sure they'll be helpful. They have the discretionary power to defer the work interviews for upto 6 months.
