I'm quite cheery too. On thursday I used 5p listings (actually 27p by the time you add in gallery and listing designer  ) to list two jackets that I don't wear anymore, a really ugly handbag that I must have purchased with my eyes shut, another handbag I've never used (bought on ebay for 99p last year :o ) and a juicer that I used once and gave up on because it was far to much hassle.
So all I was selling was old clutter that I don't use anymore.
Listed it all on 3 days because I'm impatient and just wanted it all out of the house.
And much to my surprise (I started most stuff at 99p because I didn't think it would sell), I made £70 after fees.

Yep £70 for stuff I already owned and had used but was now just clutter. I'm soooo happy :D

I had a good rummage in the back of the van the other day !
Found about 10 goodies I could put up on ebay.
so far we have bids on 4 items for total of £40.

    so.......enough for a ruby murray !!

by the way.... the rummage was good too !!

  • thinking more about this (I'm a manager for a high street fashion store) the last weekend in the month is by far the busiest in the month by a while, since for 99% of people its pay weekend (people who get paid on the 25'th 3rd thursday, etc) the only people its not for is people who get paid on last day of the month, and on this weekend trade for my store is always 20% more than the previous 3 weeksends on average (ignoring events like christmas/easter/mothers day etc).

maybee people spend their free cash on ebay in a similar way to their high street spending, im certainly going to consider making my listings end on the "pay weekend" period to see what happens! though next month pay weekend also falls on easter weekend, so people may be spending more time with their familys etc rather than at pc on ebay
  • That's a really good tip JonSimmonds - never thought about that before.

Had a good weekend myself, 2 new phones, some sim cards and a few other cheapy items. Still got ads running until next weekend from the 5p listing offer...
  • I normally do my listings starting at 99p over 3 days. Well last thursday I thought about trying out the 'buy it now' fixed price thing and I put in multiple quantities because I have many of the same items. Well normally this costs a lot like almost £2 a listings, but to my suprise it was only 5p for everything. So i stuck them on a 10 day listing and soon sold 2 items on the first day. since then I have sold another 2 so its saved me a bit on listing fees. Another good thing its getting rid of my stock quick so I can look into buying new things with the cash.
