Nationwide and a £1000 overdraft

Hi all
Last week I went to Nationwide to open a current account with them, now with my very poor credit history and my previous bank (RBS) never entertaining an overdraft... As the advisor was going over my details she said would I like an overdraft next words were ok you have been approved for a £1000 overdraft!!! Me thinking does that mean I have an account with you? I did not want to ask that, but when she said that I would receive Debit card and cheque book in the next few days, my only thought was HOW THE **** DID I manage that?
