Interest Charges when item taken off Dispute

Hi
Please has anyone any thoughts on this:
last April 2010 I bought a holiday for £2000 on my credit card with Goldtrail. Goldtrail subsequently went bust and so in August 2010 I asked LTSB if they could put this payment in dispute until I was reimbursed.
They did this after much haggling and continuous updates until November 2010 when it was then removed from dispute. I then had all interest from this payment added to my December statement (approx £180). For some reason not known to me the payment was again put on dispute immediately after it had been undisputed. In March I received my statement only to find that the interest had been added on again. I rang and was told this was correct. I disagreed and I was then told I would have to order interest breakdowns for these 2 months, Dec and March in order to prove that part of the interest on both these months was interest from the holiday and that I had in fact been charged twice. I requested these breakdowns on March and then twice in April and again today. No luck. Apparently it is a problem with my post......or so LTSB told me.
However i did get more luck today, well kind of as my complaint has been'escalated'.
I was then told, unbeleivably, that it is ltsb policy that if an item is disputed, when the dispute is removed they charge the interest from the date the payment was made, not from when it was disputed. and, if, like in my case the item is re-disputed, when again it is undisputed, theycan again charge interest from the date the payment was made.
I find this absolutely incredulous.
CAN THEY DO THIS?????
as far as im concerned the interest from April to August must have been added before the dispute surely and so to charge from April to undispute date cant be fair. But then to charge me again from April to second undispute in March seems a little harsh.
Im sorry for the very long post but today the call centre advisor did seem to get where i was coming from, and so arranged for a call back. I wondered if anyone could give me any advice about this for when they do call????

What has happened to the original transaction?
Has it been refunded or is it still in dispute?0 -
Original dispute was settled by CAA in April this year, after all this happened with LLoyds.0

In that case IMO they are right to charge interest .allofushere wrote: »Original dispute was settled by CAA in April this year, after all this happened with LLoyds.
You should not have been charged interest on fraudelent transactions - all others will incur charges until paid off.0 -

Not sure about that..............I had a disputed transaction some years back, that was in dispute for about 3 months. MBNA eventually came back with a good explanation as to what had happened - I then paid it. No interest was added.
You could always say with a reasonably straight face: " I would have paid that item off in full so why charge me interest?"0 -
In this case though the card company did not refund the retailer did.moonrakerz wrote: »Not sure about that..............I had a disputed transaction some years back, that was in dispute for about 3 months. He could have paid the bill off then claimed the amount back.0
