Cancelled car insurance!!!

Cut long story short.

Had issues with no claims bonus, the cert was always wrong, so new insurance cancelled.

Got correct COI and sent it off after paying new insurance twice once for premium with 11 years NCB, then I had to pay the same amount until my NCB proof had been applied to account. Then they would refund the difference from having 0 years to 11 years.

But they refunded full amount and cancelled by insurance 5 days ago, just received letter. After looking on Askmid I have found out car not insured for the last 5 days.

I called insurance as soon as i found out, they have admitted a !!!! up and reinstated insurance.

I am so glad that we never got stopped by police and also never had a crash.

My patience with car insurance is running thin. As it took me 5 months to get a correct PONCB ( proof of no claims bonus)
I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.

You would have had a valid defence if you were stopped its a bit more complicated than them withdrawing cover if you have the signed certificate in your possession they must provide 3rd party cover until it is revoked or destroyed.
I know your problem I have an insurance nightmare on my wifes car, she bought a new car, the insurance on the old one expires in 2 weeks, they want £110 to change the car for 2 weeks or £45 to cancel the policy, their renewal quote is £300 over the nearest competitor and £600 more than the cheapest, so she is over a barrel for 2 weeks and can not drive as you can not use the NCD twice.
They have us over a barrel these insurance companies.
No wonder most politicians invest their own money in them as share holders.
