ESTA - USA Traveln - 2yr valid?

Hi. I applied for an ESTA in April 2010 as I went to the US last year. The ESTA shows an expiration date of 22/01/2012 - so I think it is still valid.

However, I did not pay for my ESTA (did ESTA use to be free????) and I see that it now costs $14. I am also not travelling to the same destination as before and on my printed copy of my accepted application, it shows my previous destination of Denver. This year I am flying to Bozeman, MT.

So question - is my ESTA from last year still valid even though I got it free and it shows a different destination on the printed copy than where I am travelling to this year? I think the answer is 'yes' but thought it best to check!

Thanks

You are correct - it is still valid. I applied for mine in October 2009 when I went to Florida, and used it again in March 2010 & March 2011 for New York.

If you go onto the official ESTA website, you can look at your application and update your travel details for the new destination if you wish.
Common sense just isn't that common any more....

you also don't need a printed copy - other than if you want to have it for your peace of mind...it's an electronci thing, you don't show a piece of paper to anyone.

And yes, ESTA used to be free.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

They are valid for two years unless any of your information changes. In that case you need to re-apply and pay the fee.

Changes to details include a new Passport or a name chage (i.e. getting married)

you dont need to pay to update it with just information on where you are staying , just add new info on where your staying click the update button, i did this myself a few months ago, only need a new one if you have a diffrent passport number (say becuase if ran out or was renewed)
