Help with RBS Account

Hi
I have a Royal bank of Scotland account and have just been preparing our accounts for the year end and I have noticed that a cheque which we sent to them in their pre-paid envelopes has not been credited into accounts but two cheques that we sent either side of this have been credited to our account.
RBS said that they are looking into this and will be getting back to us. I was wondering if any1 knows my rights and what should I do. Im sure I have read in one of the forums that some1 has a similar situation to them and have been looking on the forum and cant find it, so sorry for duplicating this matter.
Any help would be grafeful.
Thanks

You really will need to contact the people that gave you the cheque. They can ask for a duplicate copy of the cheque which on the back will have a number of codes printed during the cheque clearing system and this will allow RBS to find where the money went... this is of cause assuming the cheque actually was cashed/ cleared and didnt go missing enroute or bounce.
How much hassle you want to make the cheque writer to go to of cause depends on the value of it and who they areAll posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
