BA HeathrowTerminal 5 -Volcanic dust
I thought I would share my experience with the Forum.
I arrived at Heathrow 6.30am from Singapore yesterday, I had received a txt from BA(in flight)stating my onward flight to Edinburgh had been cancelled, I transferred from terminal 3 to terminal 5, to have this confirmed. I had to queue with others to be given the news, BA was putting on a coach to take us to Edinburgh at 10am, and to stand at a point designated at 9.45, we were also given a £5.00 voucher to get a snack from M&S. I followed instructions, the coach finally took off at 12noon, we stood in an area that was used for passengers arriving and departing continuously, there was also separate queues for Aberdeen and Glasgow, we were told to move away from the main walkway as we were causing a Health and Safety Hazard. I would like to say, it took "the suits" approx an hour to inform us, the delay was caused by their coach company!
I would like to add, we were told at the ofset, this was the only alternative that BA was offering, although we could arrange an alternative ourselves if we wanted too, and try and claim a refund from from our insurance company.
I appreciated the lift, the coach drivers were very helpful, and I was very thankful to arrive back in Edinburgh.
I am not sure if I can claim back my flight cost, with BA providing alternative transport home, any suggestions?

Don't think BA could have done any more, most other companies wouldn't have put a bus on so I think you were quite lucky !
