Benefits and an inheritance

Prior to even knowing anything about the amount of the inheritance, due to a major issue with the car it had been agreed with motability that the car was to be returned as soon as we were able to arrange a replacement. Up to recently this was nto possible. DWP have been informed and all associated departments.

Have you actually informed DWP of the £21k yet?

What about spending on insurance, petrol, upkeep etc? Couldn't one argue that the DLA would be used for that?

I don't have a stake in this, just interested.

You didn't think that coming into £21000 would affect the benefits ? If only lol
If I were you I would get one the phone ASAP and tell them about the money and that you bought things to help with your disability, tell them you thought this was acceptable and hope for the best. You will need receipts of everything you bought mind, they'll want to see everything down to the last penny ! Good luck
