Agency Refusing to pay

I think your best line of action would be to send a letter (if the other hasn't already been posted then withhold it), stating you wish for them to contact the company you worked at regarding the 8 hours. If they fail to correspond with the company, reply to your letter or pay you the wage you are entitled to, then after 28 days you can pursue the case with the Employment Tribunal.
If it gets to the tribunal stage then make sure you mention both the Agency name and the company you worked for and that you advised them to liase between one another to confirm hours worked. Providing the ET think you have a case they will give you a case date were you will be invited to discuss the case with the agency/company, in the mean time coming up to the date they will also advise an ACAS representative to become the point of call between both parties (you v them) and try to resolve the issue without the court. I'm guessing both the agency and the company will not want to put their "good" names at risk over one pesky days wage.
Hope this helps.0 -
Im sure it may end up going a bit like this at any court....
You: They haven't paid me.
Agency: We don't have any record of you being there
Business: He was't here (after all you did mess them about for a day)
Judge: Wheres the proof you were there?
You: I forgot to get my timesheet stamped and did not clock in.⚠ 2014 - COUNTDOWN TO INDEPENDENCE ⚠0 -

It's unlikely to go to court. The Dept of BIS is there to sort out issues like this and will make an in-depth investigation of the agency as a result of a complaint. That'll make 'em sit up and take notice.0 -
He has a signed timesheet and the tribunal way is to long and drawn out the small claims court is the best option after you have wrote to them they will then know that you are not going away !0

If you only did a days work and didnt get a time sheet how can you even proved you worked for them.
They probably didnt even have a chance to add you to payroll or anything, also shouldnt you have worked a notice period or something or at least given them more than 12 hours notice?0 -
they've probably lost the client for good as u walked out.... but its probably more a case of 'no timesheet' so they cant pay out on ur say so.
write it off as a lesson learned id say.0 -
HI
I work in a recruitment agency and they CANNOT withhold wages from you.
Do your agency work on a timesheet basis? If they do and you did not get a manager to sign it this is the only way to delay payment.
Even if you did walk out on them they are still obliged to pay you for time worked. At my agency if the consultants are being dicks the bast way around us it to go staight to the complaints dept of thier Head office. They may make a fuss about giving you the number but you will get a lot more success with the HR Dept as they will pass down the complaint to the branch manager who will be obliged to sort it out.
Hope this helps0
