All children have selective hearing.. like men :p

I woudn't bother tbh.. if you have no concerns .. i always feel it is taking an appointment from a child who may need one. The school nurse will do one as part of the routine school entry check.. they have done since time began :D .. like when I was small.

The school won't even ask about it.. the forms will go in their file and probably never be looked at.. or may e passed to the schol nurse so she knows when and if there has been a previous issue highlighted.

Forget about it.. send the form back to school and start saving for the uniform!!! LOL!!!

Most of the major opticians also do hearing tests, I had my hearing test done at specsavers. I'm sure they would do the test for children too. I think it is a very good idea to get hearing checked because it could cause problems with learning which could easily be rectified. I struggled with my hearing at school in a few classes where I sat at the back, (I am talking about secondary school age though) stupidly though, I for some reason did not mention it to anybody in order to get anything done about it, this was the only place I struggled and it didnt occur to me that anything might be wrong.

I don't think a GP would refer a child for a hearing test at a clinic or hospital unless there was a problem of some sort.

If opticians do hearing tests, then that's perfect. Two birds with one stone, etc. I expected to pay for this sort of thing - I just wanted to know whom one normally consulted. And if that doesn't work out, then I think I'll follow pigpen's advice and give up. (Never mind what the uniform costs. It's labeling every single last bit of it that I'm not looking forward to!)

I seem to recall there's even a form asking if it's okay to acknowledge birthdays, if they fall on a school day!

Some religions don't like their followers to celebrate birthdays. The school is being very pro-active and trying to avoid upsets.
