I may be wrong, in which case someone will be along to tell me how, but if the tenancy was in your name and your father lived with you but wasn't on the t/agg, you may be able to claim the 2 room rate LHA with your father as a non dependent.0

I have no idea whether you ae right or not!
Not a lot of information about it on the internet either.
That's why I suggested the op contacted his local housing office and asked. There may just be a way round it.
Since the op is examining the option of room sharing and claiming HB I can't see (money wise) why there isn't a solution to be found.
However, can't get my head round the op being entitled to a 2 bed place when his housing allowance would be at the room shared rate.
An interesting one. Hope the op speaks to his local housing authority and comes back to update us.0 -
Aside from the HB issue, are you aware that most landlords require all those aged 18 and over who live in their property to be named on the tenancy agreement. If this is mentioned in your fathers T/A then he may be in breach of contract if he does not notify the landlord of a change in circumstances. You wouldn't want both of you to end up homeless, so definately worth a look.0
